Summer tour 2000 (May 14th 2000 @ sheffield arena)
'Loose Chippings' were set the task of warming up the audience first with dazzling pvc suits and one member with shocking pink hair! next was the explosive Boom! with a confusing intro with a mystery man saying what is boom? for the best part of 4 minutes made evryone curious to see boom! with there debut single boys v girls they blew the audience away! next the lass's from dublin Buffalo G excited the crowd with their debut single 'really sayin' something' and performing back flips all over the stage! impressive! then the familiar Northern Line came on and performed love on the northern line and around the world! wow! the crowd was now really excited and if you missed planet pops special on STEPS you get the chance to see it all before STEPS come on stage!
The curtains went back the audience were going wild! then suddenly a large silver cage emerged from the stage ceiling...carrying five familiar figure...Claire, H, Faye, Lee and Lisa! the opening song was Deeper shade of blue which steps danced and sung to on a silver clad stage with firemans poles mirrors and anyhting else silver! The whole crowd got up and danced making the atmosphere incredible! As STEPS whent through all our familiar songs they also impressed us with some new ones including the soon to be released summer of love and all of the bands solos including h and lee singing things can only get better by d:ream. Half way through the show H and lee started a massive mexican wave that was only meant to go from each side to the middle but it whent all the way around the arena! oops! The end to a truely memorable night had arrived and we were still bubbling with excitement! aaaah STEPS!

When I said Goodbye/ Summer Of Love (double a side)
Due to be realease on the 3rd June 2000 a single that i believe will start something new for STEPS! with the bands first try at releasing a ballad when i said goodbye i am sure they have nerves as to weather the fans will like it? A very slow song with solos by H, Claire and Lisa can move even the strongest of hearts! then a new twist and on the other side its a speedy up tempo Summer of love! the video to this song is very GAP with a white background image and Steps and all their dancers in the brightest colours you have seen! H in a blue top, and Faye in bright Pink! Claire has had yet a new hair change and in this video she sports Pink tips of her hair! will it never end?
Carrying on deeper shade of blues 'bad steps' aproach you get intervals where steps turn mysterious sgain! sppppoooookkky!
a sure hit! #3 at least!

"Double A-sided singles from Steps means not just two fantastic tunes but a pair of stunning videos to boot and we have the full-length version of their brand new song, Summer Of Love, for you to feast your eyes on.
Summer Of Love is a full-on pop fest contrasting with their classy black and white promo for slushy slowy, When I Said Goodbye, and, best thing of all, Claire sports bright pink-tinged hair!
Pulling together current trends and vibes, its mix of a Latino Gap advert and a West Side Story-style saga with the band playing the roles of a clean-cut goodie-goodie Steps gang and the sharp'n'slick members of a bad Steps posse all at the same time.
Confused? Well, the band certainly weren't and Faye was quite clear about which gang she would rather be a member of. 'I liked being good Steps most because the clothes were a bit more funky,' she told worldpop. 'The bad Steps look was a bit vampish and I'm not very good at being vampish with my hair in dreads!'
The video, which featured the dancers from Steps' worldpop-sponsored tour, took two days to shoot and according to Faye, 'It was a really fun couple of days!' Click here to watch the video in full!

Claire: "Never."
Lisa: "A bad side is lack of sleep or a lack of privacy. You can't go shopping in your lunch-hour."

H: "Thanks for all your questions. We now have some new dates for the upcoming tour: Manchester, Newcastle and Wembley. Oh, and Glasgow. They'll be on sale from Saturday."
